
English and Academic University Year in San Diego or San Francisco
The program consists of three parts:
- 16 weeks of English Course at CISL - includes the TOEFL preparation course
- We recommend that students who have never taken the TOEFL exam or have scored less than 45 on the internet-based take more than 16 weeks of English courses)
- One semester of classes on campus at the community college
- Accommodations
College Requirements:
- A bank letter showing that student or his/her parents have the equivalent of $18,000 in the bank; if the bank account is from another country, the statement or letter must be in English and the amount needs to be indicated in U. S. dollars ($).
- The college financial statement form signed by the parents or a sponsor.
- Copies of all educational records through the highest level of education completed. University records must be translated into English by an official translation service. High school records do not have to be translated.
- Evidence of health insurance meeting the requirements of the college. Students who cannot provide such evidence will be required to purchase health insurance from the college before they are allowed to register for classes.
- A TOEFL score (score varies depending on the college). Students must submit their TOEFL score by June for confirmation of acceptance for the September college semester and by November for confirmation of acceptance for the January college semester.
- Students will have to take an English and math test at the college to determine which specific classes they will be allowed to take.
- Students must enroll for a minimum of 12 units at the college. Courses can range from 1-6 units per course; the majority of courses are 3 units. Students typically take 4 courses in a semester to meet the minimum requirement.
