The afternoon Intensive Course is offered at Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels and comprises :

Conversation and Current EventsTuesday
American Culture / American Icons: Reading, vocabulary and discussion, using unique material developed by CISL. Weekly themes include Native Americans, New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina, Martin Luther King and Elvis Presley.Wednesday
American Culture / American Icons as represented in the Media (CD, DVD, etc). This echoes and intensifies the theme presented on Tuesday and offers 20-30 minute clips from documentaries and/or mainstream movies, followed by discussion and debate, and promotes listening comprehension, vocabulary growth and speaking skills.Thursday
