CISL Foreign Language Department = Intensive Language Programs!
CISL's Intensive Language Program was developed with the goal of helping the student develop his/her target-language communication skills as quickly as possible through our immersion method. Our experienced, trained and motivated teachers are native speakers who conduct classes entirely in the target language. CISL's Interactive Teaching Method encourages and motivates you to use your new language skills effectively and with confidence right from the beginning.
Beginners I & II
Designed for students who have little or no background in the target language. The course will provide a solid foundation for communicating in the language focusing on daily greetings, vocabulary, basic conversation, and basic grammar, giving the student confidence communicating with the use of the present tense and forms of the past.
Intermediate I & II
Designed for students who have some prior knowledge of the target language. Practice will facilitate daily life situations while focusing on communication. More advanced grammar and vocabulary will be stressed through real-life activities which are relevant to the student's goals. A strong focus on the different forms of the future tenses is emphasized.
Advanced I & II
Focuses on achieving highly effective communication in various situations through guided discussions and work targeted to the students goals. Accent reduction is also one of the objectives at this level. Advanced grammar accuracy is developed through practical exercises. Proficiency is achieved through individualized attention which reduces and eliminates weaknesses in oral and written communication skills. Practice and confidence using the more complex verb forms are the primary focus.
Course Duration
Each of our six levels requires 24 hours of instruction. For optimum results, and a reasonable progress rate, we recommend at least one-and-one-half hours of instruction, twice a week. At this rate, each level can be completed in 8 weeks. Of course, the higher the level of intensity (ie. number of hours per week), the faster the progress for acquiring the language.
Private, Semi-private, and Charter Group classes are available for all CISL programs. In addition, we offer specialized programs for professionals (doctors, lawyers, social workers, government and law enforcement personnel, military, business travelers, teachers, airline personnel, etc.)
