Similar customized Youth Charter Group programs can be arranged for groups of students (minimum 5 of the same level) interested in other languages, such as French, Italian, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, etc. Contact the Foreign Language Department for aditional information.
Some of our Charter Groups in the past have been formed by students who know classmates or friends and family from other schools who are also interested in studying the same language together.
2009 Spanish Summer Day Camp for Teens (ages 14*-17)
Converse International School of Languages offers a unique opportunity for students to learn Spanish. By immersing themselves in the language during their summer vacation without having to travel abroad, students are given the opportunity to meet teens from other countries and participate in fun activities throughout San Diego. This program is designed to help students develop their Spanish communication skills in the shortest time possible, and students leave the program with a feeling of accomplishment from having greatly improved their ability to think and communicate effectively in a new language. All instructors are experienced and trained teachers with native proficiency who will encourage the students throughout their language development experience.
Program
Our Spanish Camp for Teens consist of 17.5 hours of instruction offered over a one, two, three or four-week period in July. Classes are taught Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and are held alongside other teen language courses at the historic Civic Centre Building in Downtown San Diego. To ensure that the students receive individual attention, Converse has a policy of allowing a maximum 8 students per group.
Classes can be offered for beginning, intermediate or advanced levels.
Afternoon activities and Saturday excursions are optional.
